5 Best Video Games based on Movies

Video games and movies have tight relationships. There are movies that are based on video games have an impact while there are also resulted into a fall down expectations. Some of this video games based movies are rushed for their release in order to get a quick buck.

Here are the list of Movies based on video games that made a significant impact to the movie world:

5. Peter Jackson’s King Kong

As one of the first games on the Xbox 360, the ridiculously named Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie caught more attention than most games based on movies. Because the game was an Xbox 360 launch title, many purchased King Kong simply because it was one of the few games available. It’s a good thing then, that the game is actually quite good, featuring tight first-person gameplay, and graphics that were very impressive for the time.

4. Disney’s Alladin

Early 90’s, there two different version of the Alladin video game released. First, was the made by  Capcom for Super Nintendo and the second was develop by Virgin Interactive for Sega Games, with good gameplay, slick animation and pleasing art that capture the movie perfectly.

3. Spider Man 2

Before Treyarch was busy getting gamers addicted to the tiny Nuketown map in Call of Duty: Black Ops, they were busy getting gamers addicted to slinging around New York City in the most authentic video game Spider-Man experience to date. The game featured some original plot content while also covering the events of the extremely popular film, but more importantly, it was basically Spider-Man meets Grand Theft Auto, allowing players to explore New York City at their leisure.

2. The Warriors

RockStar Games is primarily known for working on their own franchises, like the Grand Theft Auto series. So while it may seem a little weird for them to acquire the license for The Warriors film, the subject matter of the movie is totally within Rockstar’s wheelhouse. The game actually serves as both a prequel as well as a retelling of the story from the film, showing players how the intense night for the titular gang came to be, all the while delivering quality gameplay and excellent co-op.

1.      The GoldenEye 007

A Nintendo 64 exclusive, GoldenEye 007 is a masterpiece from the folks at Rare. Featuring one of the most purely fun multiplayer experiences and oozing with charm, it’s a game that surprisingly still holds up to this day. It’s just a shame that Goldeneye wasn’t included as one of the 30 games in Rare Replay, considering it very well may be the best game Rare has ever produced (though if the stars align, we may get it as future DLC). Anyone looking to experience the best video game based on a movie that hasn’t yet should definitely make it a point to play this gem on the Nintendo 64, as the Wii remake  is little more than a Call of Duty clone in a tux.
