Game developer FromSoftware knew
what fans have been asking for, which is why they have the new expansion pack, The Old Hunters coming
out this fall season. However, “it was decided that with one set, we’d be able
to do more with it, and have more volume for players to play with”, Yamagiwa
said.
Among the info he spilled was the fact that the team had
originally planned to release two different sets of DLC.
Unveiled as part of Sony’s Tokyo Game Show presentation
yesterday, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters will be released on November 24.
The map itself felt rather linear, which may be
a result of paring things down for a fast-paced TGS demo, but so far it lacks
the sprawling feel of most of the Souls DLC.
Announced earlier this week, the upcoming expansion will be the PS4 exclusive’s
first, and only, DLC.
That lack of excitement kind of sums up my time with The Old Hunters. New NPC
summons are also being added throughout the base Bloodborne campaign for players to seek out. “We
wanted to give the players more options, so in this case it’s a ranged weapon”.
Sony will also introduce new colors shortly for the PlayStation Vita,
as shown in the above picture.
Bloodborne’s DLC won’t be impacting Chalice
Dungeons, but there are changes headed their way.
The new
expansion pack will not just be a new story added to the main game’s original
storyline, players will be taken to the world of Bloodborne like never before, as they get to
discover the story of the hunters that were once keepers of Byrgenwerth’s
darkest secrets.
